Plunket (Well Child Checks and Parent Support)

Plunket is a community-based organisation unique to New Zealand, providing free support services to parents and families of children from birth up to five years of age. 

Plunket is a great organisation for parents to tap into for support and to meet other parents - especially if you are new to the region.

Plunket provides a wide range of services to support parents and families of young children, including:

  • free "well child" home and clinic visits
  • a free telephone advice service for parents Plunketline
  • car seat rental
  • family centres
  • parent groups
  • toy libraries
  • play groups
