Emily Muir - ODD in children
ODD - Oppositional defiant disorder - Heard of it? Want to know more? Then come along
Service Description
What is ODD? Oppositional defiant disorder is challenging for parents, siblings and the child themselves! This session will cover some options for helping to manage challenging behaviours, how to educate those around the child about ODD (such as grandparents and teachers) and when to seek professional help. Come with questions! Emily is an occupational therapist with a decade worth of experience. She completed her postgraduate studies in child and adolescent mental health. She has spent most of her career working within the child, adolescent, family and youth (CAFYS) service within the public health system. Emily is aware of the huge gap in mental health support available to New Zealand's youth and families, and wants to be able to offer more accessible and accurate support and information to all. Join Emily on her series of informative seminars which explore a variety of mental health concerns for parents and young people alike. Attend them all or just pick and choose from which apply to you and your whanau.
