Birth Pool Hire
πΈ Birth Pool Care & Hose GuidelinesπΈ
To help keep your birthing pool safe, hygienic, and ready for a beautiful birth experience, please read these instructions carefully before use, as an overview - read the specific pool instructions thoroughly.
The Pools must sit at room temperature for 72 hours before opening as they become brittle when cold and will therefore be prone to damage
π§ Clean Water Only
-
The hoses provided in your hire box are for clean water use only.
-
They are to be used only for filling the pool, not for draining used water or any other use.
-
Hoses cannot be completely dried between hires, so before filling your pool, please:
-
Flush the hose through with hot water for a few minutes, or
-
Flush with a sterile solution and then rinse through with clean water.
-
𧴠Cleaning the Pool
-
Before use, please wipe the inside of the pool with antibacterial wipes.
This helps remove any dust or bacteria that may have settled during storage. -
Do not soak or submerge the pool in cleaning solutions β just a simple wipe-down is enough.
π§Ί Setting Up
-
Use the tarp (sheet) provided under the pool to protect your floor from water splashes and provide extra insulation.
-
Ensure the area is flat, clean, and free from sharp objects before setting up the pool.
-
Use the Pool Cover to retain heat - Use ONLY over clean water
πͺ£ Filling Options
-
It is not recommended to use a garden hose, as these can contain bacteria, mould, or chemicals that are unsafe for birthing.
-
Please use the enclosed hoses.
-
You may choose to fill the pool using clean buckets instead if you prefer.
-
Always use fresh, clean tap water to fill your pool.
π Emptying the Pool
-
The supplied hoses are NOT to be used for draining the pool.
-
Please use your own drain hose or a clean pump/ bucket system for emptying.
-
After use, allow hoses and pumps to drain completely and dry fully before storage and return.
πΏ After Use
-
Let all hoses drain well and hang them so any remaining water can flow out.
-
Wipe the Pool Cover with antibacterial wipes and dry completely
-
Wash the submersible pump/ thermometer in soapy water and wipe with antibacterial wipes
-
Once the liner is removed - wipe the inside of the pool with antibacterial wipes and dry completely
-
Place hoses in black plastic bag - return all fittings
-
Return all equipment clean and dry to help us maintain hygiene for every family - any dampness or moisture will cause mould.
Thank you for taking care of your birth pool hire kit.
Please let us know if anything is not working or something is needed to provide the best care possible.Your care ensures each family receives a clean, safe, and nurturing space for their birthing journey.
